Celtic StoneLIfting
'Clach Cuid Fir' and 'Clach Neart' have been a part of Celtic culture since it's known origins. We feel it is a sacred duty to make sure these ancient traditions of strength and initiation stand the test of time. We are incredibly blessed to be affiliated with leaders in the Celtic Stonelifting world.
Moreover we are guardians of some incredibly special, some would say "historic", stones. They are available at our Stonelifting Try-It Stations, can visit YOUR FESTIVAL, and are open to the public. Everyone from toddler to elder are most welcome to give them a try, while under proper supervision:
1. An Cloch Bán: This magical stone was the start of the now world famous Irishman lovingly dubbed "Indiana Stones". David Keohan is accredited with revitalizing and rejuvenating the almost lost culture of stonelifting on the Emerald Isle. The Cloch Bán stone was his first training stone and one he established before we went on his powerful 5-year quest to bring the strength culture back. We worked together to freight this stone from David's home in The Copper Coast of Ireland, where it was inaugurated at our 2025 Home Games event.
2. Clach Fear Alba: This Scottish lifting stone was found and used by a legendary figure known as "The Stone Man": Martin Jancsics of the Scottish Highlands. A direct student of Scottish Stonelifting legend Peter Martin, Martin Jancsics authored the highly beloved book "Stonelifting: An Ancient Test of Strength Revived". He has become one of the world's great figures on the subject. The Clach Fear Alba is the first stone he used to train with before meeting Peter Martin and lifting The Inver Stone for the first time. Martin decided to gift his 266# Clach Fear Alba to New England and abroad. We could not be more honored.
3. The Lundstrom Lift: A personal testing stone of New England Highland Games and Stonelifting legend John Lundstrom. A dominating force in the 1980's and 90's as a competitor, John started the Heavy Athletic programs for NHScots Highland Games at Loon Mountain, and the Quechee Highland Games. He also helped run the legendary Glenfiddich Games in Central Park in 1983. There are two different sets of lifting stones attributed to Mr. Lundstrom: The Lundstrom Walking Stones which are a pair of walking stones meant to be held side by side and walked for distance. The other, The Lundstrom Lift: a 422lb atlas stone with a metal handle attached lifted for time, one handed.
Are you strong enough for The Lundstrom Lift?
